New Beginnings

It's hard to believe that this summer is almost over and that Trevor will be starting school in a week and a half. Yes, he did preschool but going to kindergarten is different...probably because I was there and I remember oh so well the good and the not so good from a teacher's perspective. They are such babies when they first begin and then almost like magic they grow-up so fast and before you can blink they are ready for first grade (okay, I'm exaggerating but it sure feels like it's that fast!). I'm not really that impressed with the school that he's attending so I don't have high hopes for any spectacular learning but maybe I'll be surprised. My job is to watch and listen and then watch some more and then fill in the gaps that are sure to happen. My hope for him is to feel successful and be challenged and then meet those challenges with the "good choice". He's a good kid and knows right from wrong but we will see how good he is at doing what he's been taught. So, with Trevor starting school, we are all entering into a new phase of life.

Another new beginning for us is that I'm doing child care (gulp!) for a friend of mine who teaches school. The child care they had lined up for this year fell through at the last minute and needed help. They have two adorable kids (the oldest is 4 and the youngest is 10 months) and the money will come in very handy as Christmas approaches. :) The nice thing, though, is that my friend will be going to half-time in December and then I will only be doing child care two, sometimes three days a week. And, I get to do fun preschool stuff with the two little girls! I might be crazy but I'm looking forward to this and other new experiences that come our way this fall!

CHild Care!!! You are crazy! LOL That would be torture for me. I hope Trevor has a good time in Kindergarten. It's such a huge step!

Can you believe they're going to kindergarten? It just seems like yesterday that we were walking and talking about it like it'd never happen...
and here we are.
For me, I just wanted school to be an amazing, fun place. Our teachers, so far, have always suceeded at that.
