Summer Blahs

I think I'm going through a bout of the summertime blahs. We've had a fantastic summer, don't get me wrong. This week however, I'm tired and have very little motivation to do much. At the beginning of the summer I always have lofty goals of things I want to accomplish for myself and for the kids. This year I started off very motivated and had some great days of doing just what I wanted everyone to do. Now I look at the calendar and realize that summer is just about over and I didn't get everything done. Now I don't care. I guess I just have to keep thinking in terms of the "glass half full" and not get down on myself. I also find that I'm letting the kids watch more and more TV-- it's just easier. I know many of you have had your kids start school already and I REALLY wish we were starting soon but we still have TWO WEEKS! Trevor is VERY ready for school and I'm ready for him to be ready to start school. So, any ideas on what to do to stay motivated? I'm just curious...

Been there for sure! If I don't plan something outside of the house every day then I tend to stay inside and be completely unproductive. So my goal every day is to plan ONE outing outside of the home for Emma and I. Sometimes it's short and sometimes it's long, but it always makes the rest of my day go better. :)

I'm soooo tired. I TRY to have them do something different everyday - go to a different park, finger paint, different friends come over. I make sure they have their rooms clean everyday and I guess, that's about it. I can't wait for school to start next week!!!
